Belgian Students Enjoyed Shrove Tuesday in Tallinn17.03.2015

In the third week of February, 7 students and 2 teachers from Karel de Grote University College, Belgium, visited TTK University of Applied Sciences.

On Monday, welcome events were planned for the students – a workshop called Speed Dating was organized by TTK lecturer Anneli Kaldoja where Belgian students met Estonian and international Erasmus students studying at TTK UAS. The day ended with an international bowling night.

On Tuesday, the lecturer Guido Verstraeten from Belgium gave lectures on the topic „Technology and a Global Multicultural Society“, and Belgian students gave presentations to TTK students of environmental engineering. The topics of the presentations were: Hacking and How to Avoid It?, Smart Cities (at the moment, there are 128 smart cities in the world, including Tallinn!), How to Protect your Data in Social Media (creating safe passwords in Facebook, etc.) The presentations were followed by lively discussions.

Since it was Shrove Tuesday when Estonians eat pea soup and vastlakukkel (cream bun), all international students could taste these foods as well.
