Student-Built 3D Printer Introduced at Entrepreneurship Day16.10.2014

On October 7th, TTK UAS participated at the entrepreneurship day “To the Future with an Elevator” organized by Enterprise Estonia. The main topics of the day were design and IT. At the event, 15 start-up companies presented their products and shared ideas with 300 other enterprises.

At  the fair, TTK UAS presented a 3D printer – the project supported by the TTK UAS smart ideas competition in 2013 – built and designed by mechanical engineering students supervised by lecturer Rait Udumäe. The printer was busy all day, constantly producing. By the end of the day, many gifts of complex design were printed. Another popular attraction presented by TTK UAS was a spin-off KR Stuudio, producing laser cut objects from different materials.

Most enterprises who visited the box of TTK UAS were interested in applying for innovation voucher grant and cooperation with TTK UAS Technology Transfer Center and teaching staff, in order to carry out applied research.
