Loan rules

Items can be borrowed by all members of The University of Applied Sciences. Personal identification card is used as library card and must be presented at Reader Services Desk.

All items must be returned to a librarian at Reader Services Desk. When library is closed books can be placed in a return box situated in front of the library entrance.
Make sure You have returned all items before finishing studies.

All library users have the right to renew borrowed items (except journals) when the return date has not been validated and if the item has not been booked in reservation list.

Items can be renewed:

Loan periods
Books from the open collection can be borrowed for different loan periods and have following markings:

  Items without marking can be borrowed for 90 days (with the possibility to renew 4 times)
  Yellow mark – items can be borrowed for 17 days (with the possibility to renew 2 times)
  Red mark – items can be borrowed as Overnight loan (borrow 2 hours before library closes, return next morning) or Weekend loan (borrow 2 hours before library closes at Friday, return Monday morning)

Periodical items
Journals can be borrowed for 30 days without renewing possibility
Newspapers cannot be loaned (scan free of charge)

Overdue books
If borrowed books are overdue, you cannot renew due dates and borrow new items until overdues have been eliminated.

Lost/stolen or damaged books
If you have damaged or lost library materials inform librarian as soon as possible.
You will have to compensate the loss:

  • Replace lost or damaged item with an equivalent item
  • Replace lost or damaged item with an item suggested by librarian
  • A police report must be submitted
