At the end of November, Telegrupp presents: TalTech X TTK Folkrace robotics competition organised by TTK University of Applied Sciences and TalTech took place, bringing together robotics enthusiasts from across Estonia. In the open category, the overall victory went to a TTK team consisting of Nikita Pikkas, Reimo Vellemaa, and Egert Tappo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The small-scale robots built by the competitors were tested on a special obstacle course, where the goal was to complete as many laps as possible within three minutes. Winners were determined in four categories: open, schools, LEGO, and MBot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the MBot category, students from P\u00e4rnu Koidula Gymnasium emerged victorious, taking all three podium places. The LEGO team competition was won by a team from Tallinn Secondary School No. 32, while in the schools category the winner was Tallinn J\u00e4rveotsa Gymnasium. In the open category, the TTK team \u201cKutsume lavale,\u201d made up of Nikita Pikkas, Reimo Vellemaa, and Egert Tappo, claimed first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Anne-Mai Alas<\/strong>, Project Coordinator of the TTK Engineering Academy and a member of the organizing team, the competition provided an excellent opportunity for all robotics enthusiasts to test their skills in a relaxed environment. \u201cIt was great to see students from as many as 17 schools across Estonia taking part in the competition, and we were able to introduce our campus to them more closely,\u201d said Alas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alas added that the competition will not be a one-off event, as the next TalTech X TTK Folkrace is already scheduled for early April. \u201cThe spring Folkrace will be even bigger and will include more categories. Going forward, the competition will take place twice a year\u2014every spring and autumn,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 59 teams from 17 schools across Estonia participated in the inaugural competition, with additional teams coming from Sigulda, Latvia. Over the two-day event, 93 robotics enthusiasts competed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition was supported by generous partners: Telegrupp AS<\/a>, Windak O\u00dc<\/a>, Revismo O\u00dc<\/a>, Net Group O\u00dc<\/a>, Rae Golf<\/a>, Red Bull<\/a>, RoboSquad<\/a>, iNGAME<\/a>, Ecker\u00f6line<\/a>, AHHAA Science Centre<\/a>, PROTO Invetion Factory<\/a> and TalTech’s Wood Technology Laboratory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was supported by the European Union through the Engineering Academy funds under the measure \u201cDevelopment of the Engineering Academy and IT Academy in Higher Education.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
