The partners are jointly developing new learning solutions that enable the testing of damage simulations and reconstruction solutions for historic buildings in a virtual environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>Olga Ovt\u0161arenko<\/strong>, senior lecturer at TTK and project manager of RESUrRECT-AiD, TTK contributes expertise in engineering education, BIM workflows and digital learning. \u201cThe rehabilitation of historic buildings requires research and the use of new technologies,\u201d explains Ovt\u0161arenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo ensure that such buildings meet modern standards and contemporary usage requirements, it is essential to skilfully combine the old with the new. The learning tools developed within the project will broaden the knowledge and competencies of our construction and architecture students in the areas of historic building damage, risk assessment and sustainable reconstruction solutions, drawing on international experience,\u201d adds Ovt\u0161arenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the project, the TTK campus building will also be modelled using 3D laser scanning and BIM software. The model will later be used in teaching and research activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to TTK, the RESUrRECT-AiD project involves University of Bologna (project lead partner), Tampere University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Tallinn University of Technology.
