Japanese Architect Tsuyoshi Tane Gave an Open Lecture at TTK UAS

On February 10th, the Japanese architect Tsuyoshi Tane gave an open lecture „The Archeology of the Future“ at TTK UAS. Tane, who is the architect of the new Estonian National Museum opened in Tartu, talked about the process of designing and constructing the building. The main question when preparing the project was :„How to build a modern museum that would also be connected to national history?“ Tane said they tried to establish the idea of a bridge that would connect the landscape and the lake. From practical side, it was quite challenging to fit more than 400 rooms in one building and use as much natural light as possible.
