On December 18th, a new laboratory of logistics was opened at TTK UAS. The laboratory of the Institute of Logistics is interactive and fully digitalized: its simulation programmes and smart solutions enable to simulate the full operation of a contemporary supply chain and to conduct research.

“We´d like to encourage interactive study methods and be the meeting and cooperation hub for all students, companies and other stakeholders interested in the newest solutions in supply chain processes. The laboratory is available for testing logistics-, transport- and freight forwarding systems. Simulation programmes enable to conduct research and cost analyses for planning the production and purchasing flows. It is a wonderful place also for start-ups to develop processes and for generating and implementing new ideas,” said Kalle Uusmaa, the project manager of the logistics laboratory.

The cost of the laboratory is 264 028 euros, of which 209 022 was funded by the structural and investment funds of the European Union.
