TTK UAS students of Mechanical Engineering have received a generous scholarship of 10 000 USD from the Gene Haas Foundation and the U.S. National Institute for Metalworking Skills. The cooperation of the university and the CNC machine tool manufacturer HAAS Automation dates back to 2007, when the first laboratory with HAAS metalwork equipment was opened at TTK UAS. The scholarship is meant for students to access and remain in manufacturing education. The students and staff of the Institute of Technology have decided to invest the donation for building an energy efficient vehicle for entering the the Shell Eco-marathon competition.
