V Joint International Week Brought Guests from 17 Countries

The V Joint International Week of TTK University of Applied Sciences, Tallinn Health Care College and Estonian Academy of Security Sciences took place from 5 – 9 November 2018. The week Prevention. Risk. Responsibility united over 50 guests from different countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Iran, Greece, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Pakistan, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia.

The week focused on practical activities – the guests could participate in Rescue Day at the Väike-Maarja Rescue School and practice smoke diving and water rescue. Laboratory tours were organised in all the three universities, e-residence and e-services were introduced at the E-Estonia Showroom, and a guided tour by Erki Lember, the director of the Institute of Circular Economy, was organised at the Paljassaare waste water treatment facilities. On Wednesday, TTK UAS lecturers Egert-Ronald Parts and Henri Vennikas participated with presentations at the info session Risks and Responsibility in a Digital Society, TTK UAS projects were presented by lecturers Pille Hamburg (HiTimber), Olga Ovtšarenko (VirTec) and Anneli Ramjalg (100 Steps in Engineering). TTK UAS students could participate in lectures in English by foreign lecturers Roisin Russ (Germany), Paulina Matyjas Łysakowska (Poland) and Amin Alizadeh (Iran/Sweden). Presentations were given by Ernesto Sanchis (Spain) and the students of Moskva Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

The guests of the week could also participate in cultural programme: folk dance evening by TTK UAS dance group Savijalakesed, Old Town tour in Tallinn and the visit to KUMU Art Museum. The week ended with a hike in the Kakerdaja bog.
