Dear colleagues and students, dear TTK family!
The military action in Ukraine has changed the security situation in Europe and beyond. TTK University of Applied Sciences condemns aggression and supports the values of a free society. We stand with Ukraine during these difficult and unjust times and support Ukraine’s actions protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
TTK UAS can support Ukraine with its own actions. We have already informed the Ministry of Education and Research that we are prepared to accept students from Ukrainian universities. We are also prepared to provide housing for refugees in our dormitory in Rakvere.
We remind that we are also prepared to provide psychological counselling to our students. Contacts are available on TTK UAS webpage.
As an institution of higher education, we have the responsibility to keep balance, be aware and keep calm. I invite all the members of our university to be determined to keep protecting the values of free society and democracy and show Ukraine that they are not alone in their troubles.
Finally, I would like to refer to the words of our Minister of Justice, Ms. Maris Lauri, who said that the war in Ukraine is putinists’ war. We cannot decide on people on the basis of the language they speak or of which ethnicity they are. The language does not define the mentality. It is humanity that defines us.
I wish peace and firmness of mind to all during these tumultuous times.
