What can smart textiles really do, and how could these technologies benefit your business? Join us for the seminar “Smart Textiles Under One Roof – LÕIM Opens Its Doors” to explore the possibilities of smart and functional textiles and discover how they could open up new opportunities for companies.
Seminar is held in Estonian.
When: 10 December, 10:00–12:30
Where: TTK University of Applied Sciences, Pärnu mnt 62, Tallinn, Room B311
Participation: Free of charge Registration: Open until 1 December, register HERE
TTK University of Applied Sciences is establishing LÕIM, a competence centre for smart textiles, bringing together expertise in textiles, electronics and manufacturing. At the seminar, we will introduce the LÕIM materials collection for the first time. The collection features more than 30 documented materials that respond to their surroundings, conduct electricity, react to heat or moisture, and can be integrated into textile applications.
Textiles are in direct contact with the human body throughout the day, making them a natural platform for adding new functionalities – from sensing and responding to the environment to providing feedback to the wearer. Estonia’s textile and clothing industry already has strong manufacturing expertise. LÕIM builds on this foundation by bringing new functionalities and development opportunities to companies, without requiring them to establish a dedicated R&D department.
At the seminar, you will:
gain an overview of smart textiles and their potential applications
explore the LÕIM materials collection;
join a tour of our laboratories, get hands-on with the materials and discover their potential in greater detail.
The seminar is aimed at companies in the textile, clothing, sports, medical and protective equipment sectors, as well as industry associations, research and development partners, and researchers interested in exploring new opportunities at the intersection of textiles and technology.
The seminar is organised as part of TTK University of Applied Sciences’ development grant project “Materjalitark – Creating the Foundation for a TTK Competence Centre for Functional Materials.”
