The Faculty of Clothing and Textile as an independent structural unit was established in 2006 and started its work with three curricula.
Beginning with the academic year 2007/2008 the faculty is continuing its work with two new, improved curricula: Technical Design and Technology of Apparel with further specialisations either on Product Design or Production Management and curriculum Resource Management in the Field of Clothing and Textiles. The Faculty provides professional higher education in the field of Clothing and Textile. This year about 50 daily learning and 30 distant students have been accepted.
Developing the curriculum the needs and recommendations of representatives of professional unions and experts of curricula have been taken into consideration. The curriculum of the Faculty of Clothing and Textile has been meant for 4-year education and is based on the courses system. Scope in credit points/learning weeks: 240 ECTS CP – quite the same system as for example in Finland. The aim of the curriculum is to educate students so that after the graduation they will be experts in the field of Patternmaking, Management of Clothes Production and Resource Management in Textile and Sewing Sector.
Our graduates have been very expected in different companies and they are successful in their working-life.
Master studies for our graduates are possible in the Tallinn University of Technology, the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Tallinn University etc. |
